FACILITY RENTALSMadam C.J. Walker built a storied beauty empire in the early 1900s developing and marketing hair care and beauty products to women of color. Not a Hoosier by birth, she moved her company to Indianapolis in 1910 and left her mark on “The Avenue” where the Madame C.J. Walker Building became a national, state and local landmark institution. Today the facility is available for rentals to meet your event needs. Madame Walker TheatreFrom the box office to the balcony, the Madame Walker Theatre is the quintessential showplace—an elegant, yet vibrant reminder of an era when theatres were as much a spectacle as the shows themselves. Our historic theatre can be the location for your special event. Regal design, dramatic detail, plush seating and sculptured splendor make the theatre a truly majestic place. The Madame Walker Theatre contains one of the few remaining African Art Deco motifs in the country. The interior ornamentation includes 150 original colors hand-applied during restoration, sphinx statuary, cubist-inspired African masks, 20-foot spears and brass embellishments. The Madame Walker Theatre, where painstaking restoration and preservation have returned the building to its original elegance, is the cornerstone of the building. It is perfect for pageants, musicals, concerts, lecturers, auditions and rehearsals, motion picture and video screenings, ceremonial awards presentations and other events that require elegant staging.
Grand Casino BallroomSimple... for a seminar, workshop or conference. Sophisticated... for a grand affair. The Grand Casino Ballroom contains 4,800-square feet of extraordinary versatility with stylish panache. A mirrored wall, four exquisite chandeliers and an immaculate hardwood floor combine for an unbeatable ambiance. Seating can be arranged for as many as 300, or the room can be partitioned for cozier combinations or simultaneous sessions. Custom catering means the Center has the choices, pricing and staffing to meet the specific needs of our clients. It’s perfect for banquets, wedding receptions, anniversary parties, luncheons, breakfasts, business receptions, conferences, seminars, sales meetings, annual meetings, fashion galas, reunions, and of course, balls and dances. The Grand Casino Ballroom offers the space and grace for every occasion.
Walker Memorial BoardroomStyle and sophistication match with the magnificent view of the downtown skyline in the Walker Memorial Boardroom. The boardroom provides an elegant space for intimate gatherings, special sessions or important meetings. Seating for 12-14 surrounds a massive, glass-topped executive table with junior executive chairs with molded foam contours for back and lumbar support. Additional seating is available. A chandelier illuminates plans, presentations and proposals. Audio/visual equipment can add to your project. Video conferencing links remote branch offices or multiple clients. Beautifully appointed, gracious and professional, the comfortable Walker Memorial Boardroom offers a private yet inviting atmosphere with all the amenities you require.
