“There is no royal flower-strewn path to success. And if there is, I have not found it for I have accomplished anything in life it is because I have been willing to work hard.”
- Madame C.J. Walker

Dear Friend,

For the past 85 years, the Madame Walker Theatre Center has served as a welcoming venue for arts programming and entrepreneurial activities for all. Your generous support has made our theatre center one of the nation’s long-standing cultural institutions and we are appreciative of your continued support. The Madame Walker Theatre Center staff and Board of Directors extend a heartfelt thank you for the contributions, words of encouragement and general support for the past 85 years.

In celebration of our 85 years as a cultural institution, we have provided significant programming and have hosted international famed artists. During Superbowl XLVI, we hosted the internationally famed artist Run DMC. We continued our collaborative partnership with Asante Children’s Theatre and educated over a hundred children to arts education programming and hands-on experiences to increase their knowledge and appreciation of the arts. In celebration of Madame C.J. Walkers’ entrepreneurial spirit we honored the renowned local heart specialist, Dr. Edward Ross, and local successful businessman, Gene McFadden for their business and philanthropic successes. We continually serve as the host venue for many local visual and performing artists. The highlight of 2012 was our 85th anniversary which provided an opportunity to celebrate the legacy of Madame C.J. Walker, Indiana Avenue and the numerous artists and business owners who created the rich history of our Center.

We are committed to continuing the vision of Madame C. J. Walker but we need your help. Please consider donating to the Madame Walker Theatre Center. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization; your tax-deductible gift will provide much needed financial support for our arts education programs, community outreach efforts and operational expenses. Your gift will also create opportunities for a new generation of artists and entrepreneurs whose stories are yet to be told.

Tax deductible donations can be made by visiting us www.walkertheatre.com/donations, or by calling 317-236-2099. Your donation can also be mailed directly to us by using the envelope enclosed.

Thank you for your continued support.
